her Story
Zhongxiu is a PhD researcher at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on renewable energy systems, energy conversion, and intelligent control, with a strong emphasis on the practical application and commercialisation of low-carbon technologies. She has received five national awards in science and entrepreneurship competitions and successfully secured corporate investment to launch a project within a university-affiliated incubation centre.
With a strong international background, she previously studied in Switzerland, gaining in-depth exposure to the European education system and academic environment. This experience has shaped her deep understanding of the intersection between global innovation, education, and sustainable development.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Zhongxiu is actively engaged in the arts and intercultural exchange. She curated traditional Chinese art exhibitions in Switzerland and managed an independent gallery, working to introduce Chinese aesthetics to international audiences. She is also passionate about cross-cultural practice, proficient in piano and erhu, and has served as a host for various major events. Her interests further extend to martial arts, including Wing Chun, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwondo, as a means of exploring the fusion of Eastern and Western philosophies through physical expression.
She believes that science, art, and culture are not isolated domains but interconnected forces that, when integrated, generate greater societal value. Through her interdisciplinary and cross-cultural expertise, she aims to contribute to global collaboration in education, technology, and cultural innovation.
